Ignacio Alcantara is an accomplished artist, illustrator, sculptor, animator, puppeteer, and video producer from the Dominican Republic.

His work has been awarded and showcased at important exhibitions including the Biennale of Valence, and the Museum Reina Sofia in Spain, and other group shows and presentations in Central America, the Caribbean and throughout the United States.

Ignacio is a New School University graduate and has collaborated with curators at the Parsons Gallery in New York City. He is also a Fellow Resident Artist at the prestigious McDowell Colony in New Hampshire, being selected as the fellow-featured on Foundation Annual. Also, together with other fellow artists, he participated in the documentary video McDowell Moments streamed on their official website.

The artist has shared about his work in experimental animation in various speeches and dissertations in his country and in the States. He has also been part of the Teaching Staff at Altos de Chavon and other local DR institutions.

His most recent video series 'Intangible' will be premiered in Bangkok this winter.
