Igneciah Pocia Thete
Student, Mother, and Writer in Auckland Park, Johannesburg, South Africa
Howdy, I’m Igneciah Pocia. I am an MA student living in Pimville Zone 1, Johannesburg, South Africa. I am a fan of reading, education, and innovation. I’m also interested in volunteering and education. You can hire me with a click on the button above.
I am a self-motivated individual who is goal-oriented with strong interpersonal skills and is a team player. Education is a key to all closed doors, and my dream is to accomplish my studies so that I can be able to manifest my skills in the professional career field. However, losing is my biggest fear.
Expected to be in physical and online classes so that misunderstandings could be cleared properly.
I believe that every student has a unique way of learning and responding to learning. In that way, I believe a classroom environment to be a safe and welcoming learning environment. Since learners have unique ways of learning, I use multiple methods (such as; discovery learning, visual, language, interpersonal, etc.) to invite all learners into the teaching and learning process.
I have advanced technological skills. Firstly, I can work with a computer (such as; MS office, Internet connections, Mails). Secondly, I can cope with online activities or online studies. I can also create online learning platforms (namely, Google forms & docs, Kahoot, socrative, Mentimeter, storybird, padlet, etc.). Not to mention using the projectors by connecting them to view a document from the laptop or projecting the physical documents in the lecture halls or tutorial venues.
It is said we are now living in the new world of 21 century where everything is been improved from the ancient days. However, this statement applies to other worlds, not every world we live in. For the school I was doing my practice, there were no technological tools that were used, the only technology in that school was the laptop which was meant for administration work, and the printers only. It is a rural area, for that matter.
The biggest challenge I face as a student/worker is sometimes I feel like drowning and becoming unproductive in my studies, but I survived, and I will still survive.
