Ignite Your Creative Passion
Island of Hawaii
I recently read a passage in the Creative Confident by Cat Bennett which resonated:
“Sometimes, though, the well appears to run dry. Nothing seems to be coming. We’re working and working. Running in circles. It’s time to rest — time to let go. Everything in life moves in cycles — our creative life too. Sometimes we need to reclaim ourselves, find our center again. Breathe. See what interests us now.”
And thus, the seed for our “Ignite Your Creative Passion” event was planted in my soul.
I have been on a journey of self-discovery and reclaiming my creative passion for the past decade. Three years ago, it came to a head when I decided to retire after 32 years in Federal service. I was ready to re-invent myself and was faced with “How?”. The perfect storm ensued as left and right brains collided, energy ebbed and flowed, self-confidence warred with self-doubt…in short, chaos ensued. The wonderful thing about the chaos was that it brought marvelous opportunities and teachers into my life. I am now ready to pass on what I have learned about laughter, joy, play — in sum, our creative passions which have been lying fallow waiting to spring up and enrich our latter days.
Over a cup of coffee, while sitting next to the water, I joined forces with Cathy to bring this event to fruition. As we talked about our journeys, we knew that we had to engage the beauty and spirit of the Island of Hawaii. What is developing is a wonderful montage of creative play interspersed with Hawaiian culture and activities designed to reunite each participant with their their creative souls and resulting joy.
