Weight loss is, without doubt, one of the most common resolutions in the United States. Many of us, however, concentrate on the phenomena of weight loss without discovering the underlying cause of weight gain and, therefore, fail to reach the goal itself.

Hello, I am Inna Watson, a 29-year-old wife and a mother who is striving to support the well-being of my family through healthy food as a source of nourishment.

I am originally from Ukraine, from a small town Konstantinovka. For those unfamiliar with Ukrainian cuisine and culture - it is very simple, but unique in its way, where everything (or almost everything) is made from the fresh ingredients only (I will share with you some of my favorite recipes). In other words, I grew up eating organic fruit and vegetables, and homemade comfort food.

It wasn’t until I had reached puberty when I started gaining weight; however, it wasn’t because of what I ate, but because of how much I ate. Yes, I have always had issues with food, especially the amount of food I consumed. Still, I was never extremely over weight – chunky, but not obese. That had changed after I had my son in 2008, when I reached 175 pounds. I guess I took the saying “eating for two” too literally . . .

My weight loss journey began by simply cutting calories and increasing my activity level. With the time passing by and weight going down, I started concentrating more on the type of food I ate, as well as its quality – not just the amount.

I decided to start Healthy Pickto share my weight loss journey and my ideas, and personal experience, on how to stay fit and live a healthy lifestyle.
