Ikemefuna
Hallo, Goeie More, my name is Ikemefuna. My "brother" Nwoye used to call me Ikem. My name in the Nigerian language means effort not in vain. Which means that I can achieve everything I wanted as long as I worked hard for it. Well, this is quite true, for I am a fast learner and things were easy for me if I have learned hard enough. I am a fifteen-year-old boy from the neighbouring clan of the well known Umofia village, Mbaino.
I was first brought into Umofia as a hostage for an incident in my village but I was accepted among the people of Umofia now. I was blessed with being given a chance to live and experience as a Umofia person. I missed my family, and now I don't even know whether my mum is still alive in this world. However, I am extremely happy and grateful now with my current family, the Okonkwo family. Now, their elder son Nyowe has become my best buddy and life has certainly been fine.
I have decided to seize my life and start afresh in this village, and welcome to view my scribble of thoughts about my life in this wonderful village, Umofia.
