Mahdi works on integrative life-cycle approaches to accelerate the shift from traditional resource management approaches to more efficacious ones. He is a volunteer reviewer for peer-reviewed international journals as well.
His present research focuses on the complexities of resource use, cleaner production, energy, sustainability indicators, and how to attain “win–win” solutions to these environmental issues. He completed his doctoral degree in September 2016 at the University of Tokyo, and his master’s degree in July 2013 at the University of Tsukuba, Japan.
