Ilana Baker

My name is Ilana and I am a competitive figure skater. Skating has been a big part of my life for almost five years, and I have competed at regional competitions and preformed solos in my rink's annual production of The Nutcracker on Ice. I am also involved with my school's environmental club and community service. I am playing the lead in a short fictional film about eating disorders that is scheduled to be released in several months. I enjoy helping others in any way I can, and I am always looking for opportunities to do so.

In the future, I am interested in pursuing a career in politics or medicine. I want to attend NYU and major in either of those fields. If I were a politician, I would want to run for congress or senate, and eventually for President of the United States. I have always been interested in social and political issues, and I think I would be good at serving our country and helping to solve these issues. I am also interested in international policy, and would consider working in the field of international affairs, such as the Untied Nations. I am studying French in school, which would expand my options in many of these careers
