Illegal Diva
Writer, Attorney, and Teacher in Texas
I am passionate about being a great wife and mom; justice and fairness for all; and perfecting the art of bread making.
I am a recent dog lover. I am owned by Zeus, a rescue Great Pyrenees and Tyger, a yellow Labrador who loves to howl while my daughter plays the clarinet. I am the servant to Princess, the Maine coon mixed cat who has allowed me to hang around her for three years now.
I am "formally" trained as an attorney, but I was very blessed in 2012 to walk away from the practice of law. Now that I am no longer trying cases, I spend my days homeschooling our ten-year-old son and reading, writing and daydreaming about writing during all my free time (because you know stay-at-home moms have gobs and gobs of free time!)
Interesting tidbits about me:
I prefer mountains to the beach. Grizzly old trees to flowers.
I am giddy when I "discover" a great artist and obtain pieces of his or her art or read a book that leaves me face-palming or in tears or with a side cramp from laughing so hard.
Despite having spent almost 20 years as a trial lawyer, I am actually quite shy and an introvert.
