Michael Williams

Michael T Williams is the Director of Learning Technologies in the University of Illinois College of Education. He provides leadership and vision for the Learning Technologies team, which continues to promote and support the use of new media and digital technologies to enhance teaching and learning in formal and informal environments. Mike serves as the Principal Investigator in two funded research projects aimed at technology- based professional development of pre-service and in-service teachers. His research and teaching focus on technology integration in teacher education and teacher professional development both in face-to-face and online settings; understanding the affordances and constraints of new technologies; and the design of technology-enhanced, innovative learning environments, with an emphasis on gaming and children.
