Ilya Vensky

Los Angeles

I grew up during declining era of Soviet Union. My first love was with mathematics, which I pursued zealously for almost a decade (Moscow University, BA in Applied Mathematics). However, my romance was spoiled by Russian ideological silver lining, which made me quit professional science for good. After long journey through another degrees in philosophy and linguistics (Brandeis, Brown) I finally arrived to the conclusion that my real passion is in blending different forms of cultural anomalies and breaking all rules. Hence, I rolled up sleeves and joined the lefties. Exploring all sorts of careers, from art dealer to advertising executive, my real passion is in finding the perfect equilibrium between what is current and what is timeless. With years, the professionalism is crystalized into blend of intuition and experience. Among the most important achievements (not necessarily in the order of importance to others) are: compiling one of the largest collection of print propaganda material, pushing for experimental technology and producing unique branded platforms that allowed me to work with amazing guys like David Lynch, Gaspar Noe, Larry Clark, James Franco, Harmony Korene, Sergey Bodrov, Anano Tadanobu, Zhang Yuan and many many others.
