Il Yeon Kwon

Il Yeon Kwon, Founder of H Mart, started the first store of H-mart back in 1982. Back then, this pioneer of Asian food in American began as a single store in Queens. From there, Kwon has managed to grow his dream into something that's exceed his wildest expectations.

Il Yeon Kwon is passionate about leadership and entrepreneurship, and he's excited to share some of the things he's learned along the way with the next generation of innovators and game-changers.

“One of my passions is giving people a fair chance. Here at Hmart, 1st generation, 1.5 generation, and 2nd generation immigrants are all working together. I love binding wisdom and intelligence of people together to pursue a common goal.”
