A family physician licensed to practice in the United States and Canada, Dr. Imafidon Thomas Izekor spent six months as a medical officer at the Regina Mundi Catholic Hospital in Nigeria before attending medical school at the University of Lagos. Dr. Imafidon Thomas Izekor earned his MD and completed post-graduate general training in areas such as surgery and pediatrics, earning recognition as the Best Graduating Student in Obstetrics and Gynecology and receiving the Provost Hematology Award.

Dr. Izekor moved to Canada in 2012 and has since served as a family physician with the Department of Family Medicine with the Saskatchewan Health Authority. In addition to treating patients and advising junior staff, he participates in departmental development planning activities for the healthcare facility.

Active in various international medical organizations, Dr. Izekor is a member of the Global Youth Coalition on HIV/AIDS, which has worked in more than 170 countries to develop creative community-driven AIDS responses, and of the Action Group on Adolescent Health. He maintains membership in the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and the CPSA College of Family Physicians of Canada.
