Imam Abufarah comes from the descent of Saudi Arabia. He was born and raised there until he was 15. At the age of 15, he moved in the US with his family. Before coming to the USA he learned about Islamic studies including Quran, Fiqh, and Islamic history. When he came to the USA he also had the chance to gain knowledge under the supervision of well-known Islamic scholars like Dr. Shiekh Mohamad Nuh Alqudah, Sh. Zakaria Gasmallah and Sh. Ibrahim Madani.

Imam Abufarah enrolled in college with major in business and minor in political science. He is currently doing B.A in Islamic studies from Islamic Open University in California. He worked as an Imam in Chicago and Kissimmee respectively. He also has the credit of co-founding the American Muslim Leadership Council (AML COUNCIL) and Kissimmee Care Foundation (KCF).

Helmi Abufarah El Agha gave his services as a volunteer clergyman to Florida Celebration Hospital, Orlando Regional Medical Center, and Florida Children’s Hospital.

Helmi Abufarah El Agha also founded the ‘Bridge the Gap” program. In 2013 Imam was able to gather people with the different profession to a round table discussion where the current affairs and American Muslim Community in Central Florida was discussed. Many meetings have been taking place by now.

In 2016, 1 outreach community program took place by the Imam to provide cultural sensitivity training to people. Imam Abufarah started the courses named “Baby Steps” and also provide the services as a counselor.
