At the age of eighteen, Lucille Carter leaves her minuscule hometown of Charlestown, Indiana for the first time to study at the Imperial College of London. Strained relationships with both of parents, complicated friendships, and a full course load do nothing to ease her into the ebb and flow of the big city.
