With hands-on experience in the financial sector, a techie background and a passion for living sustainably, Imran Azam is a committed advocate of the Sharing Economy. Imran’s own award-winning company, sharemystorage.com, is a thriving example of how Collaborative Consumption can - and does - work.

A native Londoner, Imran studied Computer Sciences at Leeds Uni. Since then his career has taken him everywhere from Silicon Valley to Oxford’s Christchurch College. His work has ranged from spearheading Global Technology Solutions for PwC, to working as an Ethical Investment Consultant whilst campaigning for sustainable banking practices. He has also added to his professional credentials by studying Financing for Entrepreneurs at London Business School. This varied, rich and grounding experience has helped to shape his commitment to the Sharing Economy.

Besides overseeing sharemystorage.com, Imran currently works in an advisory capacity with a number of FinTech and Social Enterprise start-ups, which are able to benefit from his expertise in both tech and ethical finance. He is also heavily involved in The People Who Share, where he co-founded SharingEconomy.TV. This exciting and vocal role enables him to meet and interview fellow figures from across the Sharing Economy spectrum - using his corporate experience to explore the potential of this unique space. His experience in front of the camera makes Imran a natural fit for this role; indeed his career has included producing and presenting a live, six-part TV series, Ethical Finance.

Cycling is Imran’s other passion, which he manages to combine with his commitment to philanthropy. He has participated in gruelling cycles from London to Edinburgh and London to Paris - all in aid of the UNICEF supported Kanoute Foundation.
