Mom, Crafter, and DIY in Alabama
Back in 2010, over the course of just 7 months I had a blog that served as a therapeutic compass to work through some pretty heavy issues that are tackled in a few of those blogs. The rest of the time I was just trying to make sense of the mundane and insane areas of motherhood, womanhood, weight loss, marriage, and somewhere along the journey a hope to find myself again.
Here we are almost 6 years later. I’m in a better place. My heart is healing everyday. While I’m still trying to find myself, these days my journey has taken me down windy roads in search of something bigger and greater than myself. While I’ve gained some great insights into myself, this is also about my need to connect with God, to find the faith I lost – or maybe never had, and to figure out where I fit in, in the big scheme of things. This explains the blog name change from In Search of Myself to In Search of Something Bigger Than Myself.
I reside in Northern Alabama with my husband of almost 20 years and our two sons who I adore and am so proud of. I’ve worn many hats over the past few years, but the one I born to wear, is the hat of a mom. What a blessing they are (except when the days they aren’t). God help me (and them) on those days, especially as I enter menopause.
