Hey there, thank you for visiting my profile. I'm iOla, a MarComms and PR professional with a Culturally sensitive approach to Comms.

I absolutely love learning - when I'm not listening to the latest recommended self development book on Audible, I'm checking our a new subject on YouTube (most recently discovered Ho' oponopono - game changer!). When resources permit, I love to travel and experience other cultures, but also enjoy cultural exploits here in my hometown of London (so thankful for South Bank Centre) including galleries, exhibition, live music and traditional dance.

As a Cultural Communications specialist, I help entrepreneurs unearth their USP through discovery of themselves, their identity and how those specific attributes connect and engage their stakeholders and customers. How do I do this...? Well, let's just say there's only one you, and that's the magic ingredient (even if you don't know it yet).

I started my career writing freelance for various publications including Pride - the UK’s leading magazine for women of colour - that's where I fell in love with the power of inspirational storytelling through media.

Despite quitting university, I managed to secure a role in Business & Legal Affairs at Warner Music UK, and continued my creative projects writing for Flavour magazine - highlights include interviewing stars from Destiny's Child to songwriter, Carla-Marie Williams (Beyonce, Girls Aloud).

As a diversity specialist consultant, I work with agencies and companies (including Asda and Moneygram), helping them to connect and communicate with the UK's diverse (and often overlooked) communities.

Over the years I've been honoured to work with some of the UK’s leading, award-winning entrepreneurs including Nathaniel Peat (The Safety Box), Jessica Huie (Color Blind Cards and JHPR) and Mavis Amankwah - PR & marketing guru and business coach, and have represented the UK’s leading afro-hair and beauty brand/stores, Xsandy's, as well as leading expos, Afro Hair & Beauty and Shades of Beauty LIVE respectively.

Whilst working as the Events & Commnications Manager at Google (Fresh Strawberry Ltd), I developed a passion for intergrating events into the marketing mix, and once I had left, 11:11 Communications was born.
