ipNate / Ignatius (Nate) Du Preez

I am a Ex Backend Software Engineer at xneelo, a leading web hosting and cloud service provider in South Africa. I have been working on the Online Platform Framework team for over three years, creating a Managed WordPress platform that allows customers to get a WordPress website at the click of a button. I was responsible for developing and maintaining features such as automatic domain attachments, registration of domains, resetting of passwords, FTPS access, domain email, upgrading of WordPress, backup and restore, automatically creating staging environments, SSL certificates via Let's Encrypt, and privacy mode.

I have extensive experience in Ruby and Ruby on Rails, as well as MySQL / PostgreSQL. Prior to joining xneelo, I worked as a Software Engineer at Bazaruto, a planning, booking, and live rates and availability checking platform for the tourism industry in Africa, and at Prodigy Finance, a global lending platform for international students. I have also been a co-coordinator at RailsBridge Cape Town, a volunteer organization that teaches women and underrepresented groups how to code with Ruby on Rails. I am passionate about web development, hosting and cloud services, and creating solutions that enhance user experience and satisfaction.
