Dr. Irene Ekene Udebuana is a doctor, medical robotics specialist, and social innovator passionate about empowering the next generation through STEM education.
She is the Co-Founder/CEO of RobotProf and the visionary founder of Kids in LET (Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Technology) — a non-profit organization focused on empowering children living in rural communities/ slums in Nigeria with hands-on Leadership and STEM skills to tackle plastic pollution and climate change locally and globally.
A distinguished graduate of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Dr. Irene earned her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree, receiving distinctions in Child Dental Health and the Science of Dental Materials. She was honored as the Best Graduating Student in both Child Dental Health and Preventive Dentistry. During her time at the university, she served as the Editor-in-Chief of the University of Nigeria Dental Students' Association (UNDESA) and was the Majority Leader of the UNDESA House of Representatives in 2023.
Irene made history in 2023 as the first Nigerian student interviewed and featured in the British Dental Journal, recognized for her groundbreaking fusion of medicine and robotics.
She has also served in various leadership roles including being the President of the Impactfield Leadership Institute Alumni Center and as the Vice President of Let’s Speak Africa (Enugu Chapter), using both platforms to advocate for youth empowerment, gender equity, and inclusive leadership.
A proud alumni of Federal Government College, Lagos (FGCL), Irene has also won national recognition including the NADS Essay Competition and other academic awards for her contributions to science education and public health discourse.
Today, Dr. Irene speaks on stages across Africa about the importance of early STEM and Environmental education, the future of robotics in healthcare, and the critical role of women in tech and innovation. Her mission is clear: to help more African children realize that their ideas matter—and that innovation starts with belief.
