Hey there, I’m Alexsander Irfan. I’m a teacher living in Jakarta. I am a fan of photography, technology, and design.

I believe education is the cultivation of human potential, not simply the transfer of knowledge. Every student enters the classroom carrying a different map, shaped by experience, curiosity, culture, and ability. My responsibility is not to prescribe the same route for everyone, but to help each learner navigate with confidence, purpose, and compassion. I see the curriculum as a living ecosystem in which language, technology, physical education, and values education work together to develop the whole person. Students should learn not only to find answers, but also to ask thoughtful questions, examine evidence, learn from mistakes, and use knowledge responsibly.

Artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping the landscape students must navigate. I see AI as a powerful instrument, not a shortcut or a substitute for thinking. Like a compass, it may suggest a direction, but it cannot decide where a person ought to go. Students must learn to understand its limitations, evaluate its output, recognise bias, and use it ethically. My goal is to develop the distinctly human qualities that technology cannot replace: curiosity, empathy, imagination, moral judgment, and purpose. Teaching means preparing students not only for the future they will inherit, but also for the future they will help create. The true measure of education is not how effectively students use powerful tools, but how wisely and humanely they choose to use them.
