Irini Rigopoulou

Irini was born and raised in Athens, Greece. As a child, when people asked what she wanted to be when she grew up, she’d reply: “a tourist!”. Later, she realized what she had meant was a “traveler” and, indeed, her personal and professional pursuits share this desire to seek out the “new”. This quest has lured her to discover places and create links throughout her life. It has also inspired her as an “ideas generator” and a “connector” in her work and fueled her enthusiasm for social entrepreneurship and business practices rooted in human-centered ideologies. Contributing to personal and social well-being through personal development and positive social change is a core value. This drives all her professional endeavors—professor, consultant, trainer, youth-brand strategist, and advisor—as well as her personal relationships as family member, friend, and citizen.

For the last thirteen years, her life journey has been as Assistant Professor of Marketing at Greece’s top business school. Irini chose academia, during this particular period of time, as the most professional environment most conducive for expanding her knowledge and transferring it, especially to younger people. She feels blessed for this opportunity as she believe knowledge and engaging our emotions are vehicles to consciousness, which is nothing other than the medium for personal growth and happiness.

Irini’s professional path reflects different and thus enriching experiences as they create a unique blend of theory and practice, of thought and feeling, of conceptualizing and acting.

Professional milestones include managerial positions during 15 years of work for the multinational pharmaceutical and chemical company Bayer AG as well as the entrepreneurial experience gained as a founding member of Greece’s innovative organic food trading company.

In the personal sphere, she follows a holistic path that embraces yoga, meditation, and healthy nutrition.

Today, more than ever, she is ready to take her quest further, dedicating her energy to social initiatives aimed at personal and community change through the establishment of an Athens-based change agent.
