Irvin Ashford, Jr. is a speaker and Senior Vice President, Public Affairs - Director of Community Development and External Affairs at Comerica Bank.

Recognized and honored for his outstanding leadership and dedication to the community as an exemplary civic and business leader, Ashford engineers programs that teach people how to become better financial stewards. He teaches audiences the value of investing, replenishing and building in communities that need it most by starting with its citizens.

Ashford attended The Webb School, the oldest boarding school in the South and Oberlin College, one of the nation’s oldest and most prominent colleges. He obtained a Master’s degree in Public Policy from The University of Texas at Austin and an MBA in management from The University of Dallas while developing a professional career in the financial services industry. Ashford aligned with thought leaders across the world when he was granted the Woodrow Wilson International Studies and Public Policy Fellow, American Marshall Fellow, British-American Project Fellow and Zeit-Stiftung Ebelin und gerd Bucerius Fellow. Ashford serves on the Boards of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas, PeopleFund and Kym’s Kids.

Ashford represented Comerica Bank and accepted the 2015 Innovation in Financial Education Award from NASDAQ and EverFi in New York and received the 2015 Change Happens Community Hero Award. He was honored at the Eighth Annual 2014 International Financial & Leadership Summit, as well as, elected to the 2014 Alumni Board of Directors for The Webb School, Ashford was named the 2013 Champion of the Year Award presented by PeopleFund and received the 2013 Texas Banker Association LiFE (Leader in Financial Education) Award.

Irvin Ashford, Jr. has been profiled in the Dallas Morning News, Smart Business Magazine, Texas Monthly, Rolling Out Magazine and the Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau “Big Things Happen Here” campaign. He travels throughout the country speaking to businesses, organizations and educational institutions on topics including Overcoming Adversity, Mentorship, Leadership, Success and Community Development. At the TWEF’s International Leadership and Financial Summit, Ashford was featured as a panelist at the Million Dollar Leadership Roundtable Breakfast Conversation with ABC’s Shark Tank Daymond John.
