EHE Survey - About Me Project

1. My number one strength, according to StrengthsQuest, is my restorative nature. I believe that this to be a fair assessment as I'm the kind of person who likes to keep things in the best shape possible. When something is not as it should be I work to fix and/or improve it. I identified with this strength the most because it seemed to be my biggest positive attribute which each of. It impacts me largely within my personal life but is also at work in both my academic and social life. I demonstrate this strength most commonly when going about my daily routine or when I participate in a leisure activity. I find myself acting like a perfectionist. If someone else didn't develop something to its full potential I feel the need to do it myself. I think it coincides with my other top strengths of harmony and significance.

2. Another set of activities which stood out to me during our semester long journey was the Time Management course work. By creating a fixed commitment chart I was able to see just how much time I could afford to spend on various pursuits throughout the day. I learned that while I had a lot of free time outside of class- other responsibilities really start to add up. However, now that I know of my various time constraints, I can budget whats left of my time much more effectively. I can spread out work over a period of time instead of cramming it all in one massive work session. I can go out or stay in and have fun without having to worry as much. The activities were very helpful in these ways,

3. In conclusion, I believe the First Year Success Series were enjoyable experiences. There were so many different possibilities that anyone could have found something worthwhile to attend. I went to one about video games, one about food, one about stress, and one about off-campus life. Each of these were important to me and I learned a lot from them. Without the First Year Success Series I wouldn't know anything about the many resources available to me all around the university. In the future I will be able to use the information I learned to make my life substantially easier. I won't have to struggle through processes which, without FYSS, I would undoubtedly fail pursuing.
