I had no background in playing the flute, nor had I even seen one before. I just knew in my heart that i wanted to learn because its sound mesmerized me. I was deeply drawn to its unique tone, and felt an unexplainable connection to the instrument—it reflected who I was as a person. Have you ever experienced that same feeling before? At the age of 13, I began playing the flute and became a member of the Bocaue Youth Concert Band in 2015.With the guidance of our maestro, the band helped nurture my talent. Two years after joining, I performed my first solo flute piece and started receiving invitations to play in other bands as well. As I gained more experience, I recognized my potential and auditioned for the Philippine Youth Symphonic Band Camp in 2021. That same year, I officially became a member of the Philippine Youth Symphonic Band.
Aside from that, I also joined the DYCI Brass Band in Bocaue, Bulacan. Music completes me, which is why I pursued it further and decided to enter a music school.
Hi! I am Isabella Lamorena DG. German, a 22-year-old flutist and a scholar at the University of Santo Tomas, currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Performance, Major in Flute. I currently serve as the principal flutist of both of the UST Wind Orchestra and the UST Symphony Orchestra. I am a student, musician, and a teacher.
I did not come from a wealthy background, but music has allowed me to continue my studies, even though my family could not afford to send me to a school like UST. This year marks my 10th year as a flutist, and I want to share my knowledge and skills I've acquired throughout my journey. I know in my heart that I am committed to helping others ignite their passion for music, inspiring them to pursue my dreams, and encouraging them to enjoy performing as much as I do.
