Growing up as an only child, I constantly am asked whether or not I wished I had siblings. Truthfully, I could not be happier that my family makes up just my mom, dad, and me so much that being an only child has honestly become a personality trait of mine. My mom always envisioned the idea that she would have a family with at least four kids; however, after nearly five years passing by and still struggling to have just one and being on bed rest with me from Superbowl weekend of 2002 until May 1st, 2002, I guess you could say that I really am a miracle baby.
For as long as I can remember, my parents have been two of my very best friends. My mom is literally 'my person' as sometimes I think she knows me better than I know myself. She is incredibly warmhearted, outgoing, and constantly giving to others. On the other hand, my dad is more laidback, yet he can make anyone laugh and is truly the most loyal person I know.
Being around my parents as much as I am, my personality has developed into a combination of the two of them. I am most definitely known as a “people person,” as I have no problem being in a large room of strangers. Bouncing off this strength of mine, I also am incredibly protective of those I love. My mom has always said that I “love deep” because I am very compassionate and loyal to my inner circle of friends and family. I remain consistent with my giving, and I always aim to do so with an optimistic outlook. In some people's minds being an only child would be lonely; however, it truly has made me into the person I am today as I cherish my relationship with my parents, and my friends are like family to me.
