I'm a researcher of Spanish/English bilingual communities in the United States, and Associate Professor of Spanish at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.

I specialize in the social context and linguistic features of US varieties of Spanish, and am most interested in understanding why and how bilingual speakers use and preserve a minority language in low ethnolinguistic vitality contexts, such as the Midwest.
