İsa Hatipoğlu earned his Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 2012 from Erciyes University, Turkey. He received his first M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2016 and his second M.Sc. degree in Optics from CREOL, the College of Optics and Photonics, University of Central Florida in 2019.

In December 2021, he received his Ph.D. in Optics and Photonics from CREOL, the College of Optics and Photonics, University of Central Florida.

He worked as an assistant professor in electrical and electronics engineering at Sirnak University before becoming an assistant professor at Gazi University's Department of Photonics, Faculty of Applied Sciences in Ankara, Turkey.

His research interests include photodetectors, semiconductor device fabrication, molecular beam epitaxy, and photonic device characterization. His primary area of study is wide and ultrawide bandgap semiconductor materials for ultraviolet photodetectors, specifically Ga2O3-based alloys.
