Hey everyone, I'm Lady Isak Grozny!

I write Interactive Fiction. You can view and play my work by clicking the button above, the one that says "View my portfolio".

My writing focuses on gay and trans characters, disability, questions of identity and outward persona and draws heavily from Ashkenazi Jewish and Slavic folklore traditions. It has roots in what I term “a total perversion of Lovecraftian mythos”. I've described my usual genre as “comedy-horror of manners”, though I concede it’s accurate to put my writing into the 21st Century fantasy tradition of New Weird.

My IF piece, minor fall MAJOR LIFT has been favourably reviewed by Emily Short, writer of Counterfeit Monkey and contributor to the award-winning Sunless Sea by Failbetter Games, in her 2017 Mid-February Link Assortment.

I'm 27 years old, gay and transsexual. I use he/him/his pronouns. I'm based in Edinburgh, Scotland and I've been known to come down from the hills to London for cons and suchlike.

I was born in Siberia, in a city called Chelyabinsk, shortly before the fall of the USSR. My parents brought me to Dublin, Ireland when I was 10 and I left for Germany at 20. In 2016, I came back to the British Isles.

I'm a semi-observant Jew, or soon to be one—I'm still working on finalising my conversion, but my heritage has Jewish and Muslim roots via my grandfathers.
