Isa P. Monteiro

Isa P. Monteiro graduated in Biomedical Engineering (BSc. and Master) from University of Minho, Portugal.

In 2006, she was awarded a German Exchange Service (Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst, DAAD) fellowship to perform research in Photodynamic Therapy and Diagnosis (PDT/PDD) at the RWTH Aachen University of Technology, Germany. She was integrated in the MULTILAS project, a partnership with the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology, to create a minimal invasive endoscope to treat brain tumors by PDT.

She is now a Ph.D. candidate, performing research at the Prof. Robert S. Langer lab, MIT (Cambridge, USA). She has been developing new strategies to regenerate skin and improve the skin substitutes vascularization.
