Isha Datar

Isha Datar is the Executive Director of New Harvest, a 501(c)(3) organization advancing the movement away from our dependence on animals to make animal products.

New Harvest is accelerating thegrowth of a viable, competitive, sustainable market of animal products producedwithout animals. To this end, New Harvest builds the research community byproviding investigators with seed grants and nurtures the fledgling industry byconvening stakeholders across all sectors and incubating new companies on an adhoc basis.

Through New Harvest, Isha has co-founded Muufri, a company producing cow's milk without cows, and Clara Foods, a company producing egg proteins without the need for laying hens. By moving away from animal farming, both companies will be producing dairy and eggs in a way that is much more sustainable, healthy and humane.

Isha is also a published author on the topic of growing meat in cell culture.
