My name is Ivan Smirnov, and I am a full stack software developer, with an interest in mobile and machine learning. My most recent work was on at Google, working on the back end of YouTube to deliver better classifications of videos, through the use of machine learning techniques.

I am a lifelong learner, always acquiring new skills and seeking out new mindsets to enrich my experience of life. I spend most of my free time mastering various technologies, furthering my understanding of the world, and working on my personal tech projects. When I am working on a project I often get woken up in the middle of the night by a flash of insipration for some feature or idea of an implementation. Sometimes I even dream in code.

With my work, I strive to make life easier for people, be it a niche time saving script or an exciting new product that millions will love and use. I believe that there are endless possiblities for improving this world, and I am educating myself as fast as I can in order to start leaving my mark.

I am currently attending UC Berkeley, where I am majoring in Computer Science. When I'm not writing code I like to do ballroom dance and practice Aikido.
