Creative STEAM Workshops in DMV

Greetings,

I am Jyll Turner. I bring over 20 years of experience in creative STEM/STEAM education. I am the former Cross Regional STEAM Supervisor for Fairfax County's Neighborhood and Community Services, where I led the strategic development, implementation, and scaling of STEAM programs across multiple regions in partnership with the Clubhouse Network. My work focused on helping to design equitable, high-impact creative STEAM learning experiences, aligning activities with community needs, and building sustainable program models that expanded access to quality STEAM education.

Currently, I design engaging, hands-on creative STEAM workshops for K–6 students that make learning fun, accessible, and meaningful. Through mobile, interactive experiences, my workshops spark curiosity, strengthen critical thinking, and build creativity and confidence—helping children develop lifelong skills in a supportive, low-pressure environment.

Workshop Highlights include:

Self-paced, skill-level–based learning

Integrated literacy and social-emotional learning (SEL) prompts

Emphasis on creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and communication

Core Values in Practice:
Empowerment, self-efficacy, and respect for diverse learning styles are embedded into every workshop experience.

Available for:
After-school programs, one-on-one or group workshops, birthday parties, and more.

Sponsorship Opportunities:
A $50/month sponsorship helps provide a free workshop for a special child in your life or community.

You have amazing ideas. My kids have loved all of your programs."
Ms. Vasquez, Teacher/Parent
Thank you again for the wonderful program for my daughter. She enjoyed every class and was always excited to come home and show us what she made AND how it worked. I’m excited the next programs will be open to 3rd graders because now my other daughter can join. Count my two daughters in for both sessions!
