With more than 20 years of experience as a board director or board advisor to Fortune 500 companies, cyber security specialist Israel Martinez currently works as senior advisor to the executive director of the National Healthcare Information Sharing & Analysis Center (NH-ISAC). He specializes in risk management and cyber security. Martinez also is a board member, board leadership fellow, and faculty member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) located in Washington, D.C.

Israel Martinez earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting and information systems from the University of Texas in San Antonio. While there, he was a member of the school’s Christian fraternity, BYX. He attended Harvard University for his postgraduat studies.

Martinez travels across the country speaking at conferences on issues pertaining to cyber security and risk management. In 2015, he plans to speak at the Toronto Executive Leadership Summit on October 8 and the NACD Global Board Leader’s Summit from September 26 through 29. He was the lead trainer for the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA) and NACD Director Professionalism Training Cyber Enterprise Risk Management meeting held in San Antonio, Texas, in March 2015.
