Itsumirui (Hector Rosas)
Visual artist musician dj producer
Itsumirui (一神流威) (Héctor Rosas)
is a Mexican visual artist, musician, DJ and producer born in Mexico City (CDMX).
He develops a multidisciplinary body of work that integrates abstract art, oneiric surrealism, electronic music production, photography, video and artificial intelligence.
Itsumirui is the artistic identity created by Héctor Rosas to establish a distinctive and recognizable presence, differentiating his work within the international art and music landscape.
His visual work is rooted in abstract and informalist traditions, with a strong influence from dreamlike surrealism.
Through painting, textures, contemporary materials and technological experimentation, he constructs contemplative compositions designed to engage the viewer intellectually and emotionally.
His imagery frequently explores themes such as nature, femininity, science fiction, the subconscious, fantasy and symbolic allegory.
The result is a body of work that is often enigmatic and atmospheric, yet aesthetically refined and evocative.
Parallel to his visual practice, Itsumirui produces and composes music across multiple genres including electronic music, trance, psytrance, house, pop, k-pop, rock and influenced hybrids.
As a DJ and producer, he creates immersive sonic environments characterized by melodic structure, cinematic atmospheres and emotional intensity. His compositions frequently explore universal themes such as love, identity, inner transformation and human consciousness.
A defining aspect of his practice is the integration of technology as an artistic medium.
Artificial intelligence, digital tools, audiovisual production and experimental workflows are not accessories but structural components of his creative methodology.
His work examines the relationship between art, human perception and technological expansion.
Itsumirui’s artistic universe is conceived as a unified ecosystem where sound and image coexist.
Each project reflects a personal philosophy: art as a vehicle for introspection, evolution and expanded imagination.
Héctor Rosas, known artistically as Itsumirui (一神流威)
The artistic name Itsumirui was created as a symbolic construction inspired by Japanese writing.
It can be represented in kanji as 一神流威, with phonetic forms イツミルイ (katakana) and いつみるい (hiragana).
The characters conceptually express the idea of “a unique divine spirit flowing with power.” These Japanese representations function as artistic and linguistic references, while the artist himself is Mexican and the primary professional name used publicly remains Itsumirui.
Before creating this name, the artist initially considered adopting a stage name derived from Nahuatl or Mayan languages to reflect the ancient cultures of Mexico. However, because those civilizations did not develop a widely standardized phonetic writing system comparable to Japanese kanji for constructing symbolic written names, he ultimately chose to create the name Itsumirui as a conceptual artistic identity.
