Trlin has a B.A. in Military Art Cum Laudefrom the University of Zagreb. In 2015 Trlin joined Croatian Pupil's Association. In 2016, he was elected as a Board Member, and in 2018 reelected as vice president. During his mandate of 2 and a half years, he represented more than 150 000 high school students.
During his high school education, Trlin participated in many different projects such as “Entrepreneur of Future”, “Fintelligent”, etc. In Rudjer Boskovic High School and Tin Ujevic Dorm, he was a member and vice president of the Pupil's Council. He's won many rewards, commendations, letters of thanks, etc. for his community work at local, county, and state levels. For 2 years he was part of the school writing section and participated in the making of the school's news magazine.
In 2017 he became a ham radio operator and soon joined Zagreb Civile Defence and Croatian Emergency Radio Network. In 2020, he participated in ARON Emergency Communications Education in Ig, Slovenia as part of the Croatian delegation. In 2023 he was elected president of the Board of supervision for the Croatian Emergency Radio Net.
In 2018 Trlin joined Trnje Volunteer Fire Department and has been serving ever since. He also participated in calls after the massive earthquake in Zagreb in 2021 for which he was awarded a Medal for Help and Sacrifice by the Croatian Chief Fire Commander. One of his specialties within the firefighting system is radio communications and DRONE piloting. He is a certified drone pilot by the Croatian Civil Aviation Agency. In 2024, he was awarded a Medal for Bravery and Sacrifice. Currently, he is Head of Disciplinary Committee.
In 2018 he was elected as a Benjamin Franklin Fellowship scholar by the U.S. Government at Wake Forest University. During his exchange program, he presented Croatian history, culture, and interests on many different occasions including meetings at the U.S. Department of State, International Dinner, etc. He's also obtained FBI CJIS L1 Certificate and participated in the High Point Police Department ride-a-long program. He is an active alumni member of the U.S. Embassy in Zagreb and the U.S. Dep. of State exchange programs. At the U.S. Dep. of State HQ in Washington D.C., he participated in Model UN Simulation.
In 2022 he was awarded the President's Award at the University of Zagreb.
He was a member of the College Council of the Military Studies in 2023. He is the author of several scientific papers.
