Ivelisse Valentín is the Preaching Initiative Director and Assistant Professor of Preaching and Practical Theology at Palm Beach Atlantic University, Florida, USA. She served for nine years as Director of Chaplaincy at the Interamerican University, Metropolitan Campus, where she also taught in the School of Theology and currently serves as Senior Pastor at the Church of the Nazarene in Toa Baja, Puerto Rico.
She is a member of the adjunct faculty at several universities and seminaries in and outside Puerto Rico. She completed her doctoral studies at Drew University, Theological School in New Jersey, in the area of ministry and communication languages in the digital age. She is currently a PhD candidate in Practical Theology at Palm Beach Atlantic University, Florida, USA, researching Prayer as a Decolonizing Spiritual Practice.
She holds a Master’s degree in Communications from the Universidad del Sagrado Corazón and a Master of Divinity from the Seminario Evangélico del Puerto Rico, and she is also certified as a Supervisor of Clinical Pastoral Education. Her teaching and scholarship center on preaching, spirituality, the Bible, Christian education, and the Church in the digital age.
