Hi everybody, I’m Ivy. I’m a high school student living in New York City. I'm an aspiring psychologist! I've always had empathy for my community and I enjoy helping those in need. I have volunteered in food banks and I tutored kids in an after school program. When I give people guidance, I get a ray of hope that I can possibly change and flip their life around. It makes me so happy to see people defeating their issues. I've learned to be an active listener and problem solver. I think critically and I'm pretty interested in how people think and behave. Although I have so many goals, I'm determined to accomplish them and I would not give up that easily. I'm proud of all the little accomplishments in my life because they have all meaning. My family, friends, and teachers are the people I can count on and they always have my back. I recently completed a presentation in which I had to collaborate with several other teammates. I must say, it definitely required a lot of hard work and persistence but it was totally worth it. I was glad I had this experience because it helped me understand myself better and improve my mindset. Brainstorming ideas helped with my complex critical thinking. I loved how we made the slides creatively and we did spend a lot of time adding pictures so that was great! Next time, I can aim higher and start low. I can dig for more ideas and be more creative about them. If I gather more ideas, I would be able to choose from them and make connections too. My advice for the next project team is to stay determined and talk with your group. It is so much less stressful when you are collaborating with your teammates and discussing together!
