I am a 23 year old Londoner trying to meet inspiring people, create innovative businesses and help young people get the mentoring they need to succeed in adult life.

I have a number of passions, ranging from music and sport to entrepeneurship and mentoring.

At the age of 11, I decided I wanted to be a DJ. My friend and I therefore decided to set up a car washing business one summer holiday, in order to raise money for our first piece of equipment. Once our target was met, we were able to buy some turntables and get learning. Our first gig followed closely (for one of my brother's friends). This was my first experience of business and it made me determined to continue down that path.

Alongside the music, I was also a keen sportsman, trying my hand at football, rugby and athletics. It was athletics in particular that I had a knack for and over the years competed in many national finals in the 400m, pole vault and decathlon, reaching my highest ranking of 4th in the UK for Pole Vault at U15 level.

During the school years, my weekends were spent DJing at some of London's best venues, which above all instilled a strong desire to build successful relationships with people.

When I headed off to the University of Birmingham to study Philosophy, I created my first startup, which was an under 18 events company, called Ice Breaker. I was awarded a grant in order to develop the business and for two years, organised and coordinated some great events. This lead to my work with Birmigham's biggest student night, Minted at Mechu nightclub, where I built a team of 35 staff, from ticket sellers and doormen to DJs and guestlisters. The night rapidly grew to an average attendance of 1,200 students each week and taught me a huge amount on management, strategy and leadership.

Towards the end of university, I had a new business idea, which was to build an education platform connecting students with quality, affordable tutors. My research showed that in the UK, the tutoring market is dominated by bespoke, high-end agencies that were inaccessible to majority of parents who were sending the children to state schools. The result of my labour is www.TutorTap.co.uk, the UKs largest tutor database with an online booking & payment system, where parents are able to contact tutors directly and look at real feedback from similar parents.

I also currently work for one of the UKs largest private banks in the Office of th
