J-O Rogers

Greater Philadelphia Area, Pennsylvania, United States

Jo-Van Rogers, also known as “J-O,” was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. He is a 2014 graduate of The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College (TRS), where he studied Restaurant Management. He currently serves as C.E.O. of J-O’s Family Catering, and is a recipient of Common Table's 2014 Fellowship Program, where he will be testing his restaurant concept, J-O's WingZ and ThangZ, sometime in 2015.

At J-O’s Family Catering, his responsibilities include recruiting and meeting with clients, writing and developing all banquet event orders, oversee and train all staff, direct all marketing strategies, and develop food/beverage menus.

On top of his culinary and restaurant aspirations, J-O has experience working in the music industry for almost his entire life. Most notably, he was the founder and lead MC of GrindCity Philly, a rock, hip-hop, soul, and funk band established in 2003. J-O is also a lover of the blues, and can play a mean harp.

J-O has strong personal, communication, creative, organizational, and leadership skills, and has a robust background in the entertainment and food industry. Ultimately, he would like to combine both his culinary and musical skills to create different events that the masses will love. Be on the lookout in 2015 for his multiple projects coming to Philadelphia.
