Joshua Bamford grew up in Perth, surrounded by a variety of birds, fish, reptiles, two dogs and his biologist parents. Since graduating from the University of Western Australia, he has been living as an academic nomad around Europe; mostly in Finland, Austria, and the UK. His research interests revolve around the evolution of music and dance. If he had spare time, he would be out swing dancing.
