J. Scott Lapp has been working in the theatre business for over 27 years performing in over 100 shows in and around San Diego County. He is an alumnus of the 2009 Lincoln Center Theatre Directors Lab West, a proud member of the SDC and a 2011 SDC Emerging Artist. Recent projects include a one-night concert with Shoshana Bean and working as Assistant Director on the World Premiere of Warner Brother’s Secondhand Lions at the 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle. He also recently concluded the critical hit Murder For Two which played to sold-out audiences off-Broadway at New World Stages! He is currently working with The Old Globe in San Diego on the newly reimagined production of Into the Woods in association with The Fiasco Theater. This Summer, Cabaret at The Merc is producing 3 fully staged, immersive productions, including Next to Normal, Spring Awakening and The Untitled John Mayer Project. In September, he’ll be working with Disney Theatricals and La Jolla Playhouse as the Associate Director on Disney’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame. A National Tour of Murder For Two will kick off in the fall, the tour will play the Old Globe in January.
