I am and have been into art and the creation of art for all my life. I remember back when my parents would let my twin sister and I go crazy with cheap watercolors and our fingers as brushes, letting us create until our hearts content. Soon those cheap watercolors turned to higher quality paints, and fingers turned to fine paint brushes. Furthermore, I did not get serious with art until my last year of middle school thanks to my art teacher. She showed me that art is something that I could perfect and make a career out of. Since then, I have been doing just that by taking one year of drawing and painting and then three years of AP art the rest of high school. So far, all my hard work has paid off through numerous art awards I have collected over the years as well as all the friends I have made through art.

My favorite medium to use is either digital or acrylic paint. I love digital art because it gives me a wide array of colors to use, and it is not messy. On the other hand, I love acrylic paint because it gets messy, and there is a beauty to it. Likewise, the reason I am so passionate about art is because art itself is a living breathing skill that I can use my knowledge and skills from other classes to make better art and vice versa. To illustrate, with literature and english classes, I can use symbolism through objects or colors to create depth in the pieces I create. Art is not like math or science where you can only apply the skills learned in those classes in those specific areas. I can apply art to almost every subject and create a learning experience that caters well to my learning style. In other words, art is meaningful to me because I use it everyday, intentionally or not.
