Growing up in a coastal city meant that I was brought into the hobby of fishing early in my life by my father. Despite not being too enthusiastic about the activity, being forced into participating helped me develop an appreciation for the serenity that the outdoors had to offer that I otherwise would not have been exposed to. The summer before I was to move away from home and go to college came around and my father and I were on what we both knew would be our last fishing trip for a long while. The poles were rigged, baited, and cast far into the water while we ate lunch and talked. In the middle of a speech about how much I was going to be missed and how excited my parents were for me to be going to business school, the pole started to bend. Before we could even stand up to grab it, the entire rig was pulled into the water by what had to be a massive fish. With a good deal of equipment now at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean, I was thankful that I was saved from any future fishing escapades for the time being. That being said, the exposure I was given at a young age had inspired me to be passionate about travel and was a large influence in me pursuing a career in International Business.
