Joshua Wills (born October 20th, 1984) better known by his stage name JW, is an American musician, art & music producer, audio-sound technician, spoken word- songwriter.
Though performing as a DJ, he does not consider himself a DJ but more of an artist from the electronic music genre of art. He follows in the footsteps of his forefathers of dance music in mixing, producing, & remixing. He also studies other forms of music from art composition, film score, & the hip hop culture.
JW is also known for his study of noise and sound designs in music composition.
In 2010, Wills helped build an independent radio station in East Peoria, Illinois, WAZU 90.7 at the Illinois Central Community College. His program was based on early 80s Post Disco, alternative, indie dance, and EDM.
Wills' on-air journey invited listeners into a submarine and often compared the politics of pop culture to living underwater and witnessing a wonderful array of strange sea creatures and vegetation.
He introduced many artists into the Central Illinois art and music market, including I.H.M.C., Kinky Coily, David Van Buren, and MVImaging’s Matt Veltman. Also introducing singer and poet, Danny Severance, whom also sang the Blackstarsea theme.
Most recently, JW is serving as remixer (@thejwremixes) for a handful of national and international producers, singers, and legendary artist from yesteryear.
