Jabulile Loli Solontsi

Mr Jabulile Solontsi (commonly known as Jabu) is a budding scholar whose intellectual pursuits span a broad spectrum: from employment law in all its statutory and common-law dimensions, to the intersections of moral and existential philosophy questions of responsibility, meaning-making and "Thrownness" (as described by Martin Heidegger).

Though he has chosen to forgo a conventional academic trajectory (he gave up teaching and researching for the engine-room of Higher Education) he remains deeply engaged with scholarly inquiry. In his capacity as a dedicated university administrator: he contributes behind the scenes to the institutional frameworks that sustain the academic project.

Most recently: Mr Solontsi is known for appearing pro se before the Constitutional Court of South Africa, representing himself in a matter of public and jurisprudential significance.
