Darko Jacimovic
Marketing Strategist, Branding Consultant, and Growth Marketer in Prague, Czechia
I’m Darko Jacimovic, I have a BA in English Language and Literature, and I work as a Growth Marketer at WhatToBecome.com. I live and work in Prague, Czech Republic, though my job frequently takes me to the States.
A lot of people seem to get the position of a Digital Marketer confused with that of a Growth Marketer. Although the two positions have similarities, Growth Marketers have some very distinct differences in their job roles. I discovered these differences in Dubai, where I first began my digital marketing adventures. I left my homeland in the Czech Republic, to see what awaited me in the land of sand and opportunity.
After several years there, working in a myriad of digital marketing roles as a freelancer, I was eventually given the chance to work as a Growth Marketer. However, the opportunity called for me to return to Europe, and to the city of my dreams—Valencia. In Spain, I learned techniques and strategies that allowed me to test the limits of traditional marketing and helped me to understand exactly how to maximize the brand exposure of a company.
While other members of my team focussed diligently on the technical aspects of SEO, my attention was invested in creating/implementing strategies that led to making our final products both search engine friendly and valuable enough to keep our visitors coming back.
Essentially, my focus was firmly placed on attracting specific user bases and directing potential audiences to the right place. Learning these skills allowed me to combine two passions of mine—digital marketing, and helping people—in a way that enabled me to feel satisfied with the level of impact I was having on users.
Taking these skills on the road, I worked with several companies in the US, Spain, UAE, Canada, and the Czech Republic. Although being back in the lifestyle of sun, sea, and sand was good, I started to miss my beautiful homeland. So after four years in Spain, I decided to return to Prague and its breathtaking gothic architecture to take a position with WhatToBecome.com. I’ve never looked back since.
