Jack Fleming

Hello, folks - Let's get right to it! I'm a Cognitive & Brain Sciences major at Tufts University, with a minor in Linguistics. I'd never heard of this major before Tufts, so real quick - it's a mix of research & cognitive psychology, computer science, and philosophy, with a dash of linguistics. Basically, there's a central problem - How do we store information mentally and then access it - and a CogSci major's job is to try to approach it from as many angles as they can, be that modeling it virtually, exploring it philosophically, studying it experimentally, or otherwise. I'm particularly interested in conceptual models of memory, and interaction and association between memories and stimuli, as well spatio-cognitive studies, mostly about GPS and recall.

Outside of academics, I'm the President of Sigma Nu Fraternity, Zeta Eta Chapter. I work as an RA in student dorms, and play music - guitar, bass and banjo, mainly - around campus, mostly flamenco, jazz, and bluegrass, respectively.

In my free time, I'm a fisherman, a halal cart aficianado (though most food trucks have a place in my heart), a big reader (both blogs and books), and perhaps most importantly, a 30 Rock/Archer/Arrested Development/Louie/It's Always Sunny fan. On the more dramatic end, nothing really beats The Wire or Breaking Bad.

I love wordplay, and am a huge fan of puns. I actually entered a pun contest last year, and in a desperate attempt at victory, I entered ten puns, hoping one would win. Unfortunately, no pun in ten did.
