Jack Sandberg

Jack Sandberg is a Classical and Jazz trained pianist based out of Seattle, Washington. Jack has been performing Classical, Jazz, Blues, and Rock music throughout the Northwest for the past 5 years. His newly started career has already seen him on the stages of several concert stages including The Fox Theatre and The Bing Crosby Theater, as well as prominent nightclubs such as The Rouge and Peasant and Lucid Jazz Lounge. He has appeared onstage with such musicians as Bruce Pennell, Terry Cooley, Thomas Kelly (drummer for the Anthony Braxton Creative Orchestra and Dave Holland), and most recently an emerging Seattle based composer/performer collective dubbed Ventrilo.

Sandberg is at home playing in all different styles. In the Jazz idiom, you can hear him playing fluidly in the Standard and Bop styles but expressing just as much comfort and intent when he pulls out freer, more avant-garde tunes, or technically precise Fusion. His execution of Classical repertoire is just as poignant as the span of the style he covers is broad. In one performance, it is common for him to hear anything ranging from say, the Goldberg Variations by Bach, to Debussy's Preludes, to Rhapsody in Blue by Gershwin, to Ba Ban by Chen Yi.

Outside of the performance sphere, Sandberg is an avid composer writing mainly in the Jazz and Rock idioms. His music is performed by Ventrillo as well as various projects in Seattle.

From his location in Seattle, Jack hopes to continue his solo performances as well as with Ventrillo and other projects.
