Building on a history of volunteerism that began when he was in high school, he serves as the director of operations for the Duke Recovery Food Network, organizing food collection services that take food from campus restaurants and deliver it to organizations that feed the hungry. Jack Forlines also secures revenue for the Duke Chronicle, Duke's daily student newspaper, as an advertising account executive. In the summer of 2016, he completed an internship with the private investment firm Marker, LLC, based in New York City.

In the summer of 2017, Jack Forlines will serve an internship with the Aladdin Client Services Group of the global financial services firm BlackRock, Inc.
