Hi, my name is Jack and I am an avid backpacker, a Californian and a fan of bicycles and coffee.

At work, I am the Trail Information Specialist for the Pacific Crest Trail Association.

I believe in the transformative power of nature and travel. I believe in doing what I love with relentlessness and energy.

I have a BA in Nature and Culture. When kids were “sent to the woods” they used to come to me.

I've been lucky enough to make a go at being a professional in the backpacking industry.
